Melissa Uhl

Policy & Partnerships

Melissa leads policy, government and private sector partnerships and opportunities for Energy Excelerator.  Locally, she works closely with Dawn on the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative helping to align local energy stakeholders in supporting and implementing innovation.

Prior to joining Energy Excelerator…

Melissa practiced commercial litigation, real estate, and municipal project finance law at Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Prior to law, Melissa worked for the Environmental Working Group in Washington DC on environmental health policy and for the United Nations Development Program on community and individual land rights issues. Melissa was also a Nature Conservancy Science fellow at the Natural Capital Project at Stanford University where she focused on international ecosystem service valuation mechanisms.

With a background in law and environmental science…

Melissa received her JD from the William S. Richardson School of Law with an additional certificate in environmental law and her BS from Santa Clara University. She serves on the Oahu Council of the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust.

Outside of the office…

Melissa enjoys surfing, hiking, and traveling.
