Tell me about the technology.
Edisun Heliostats has developed and is currently creating a commercial, micro-scale Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technology with integrated energy storage referred to as Combined Solar and Storage (CSS) technology. Based on its small unit size, efficient design and use of materials; CSS technology has the potential to be less expensive, out perform and utilize less land area than PV. Additionally, the system is designed to be low-profile, rather than hundreds of feet tall, allowing the receiver column to be below typical tree height and the mirror array to be less than 3 feet off the ground. This approach significantly lowers visibility, wind loading and overall cost.
What should I know about their EEx Demonstration Project?
Edisun will install a multi-acre system that will deliver power to an industrial complex through the existing interconnection facilities at the site. It will be integrated with other adjacent renewable generation at the interconnection point, and will support nearby water-pumping load requirements, greatly reducing the site’s costs for purchasing retail electricity.
Edisun completed the EEx Go-to-market Track in 2015.
